Where Wear Plates Are Used

Wear plates are placed wherever material slides or contacts die surfaces:

• Die Radius Areas: The draw radius and entry radius experience high sliding contact as material flows into the die.

• Blank Holder Surfaces: Material slides across blank holder surfaces during drawing operations.

• Side Pushers and Lifters: Material handling components that move blanks or parts experience sliding wear.

• Cam Followers and Gibs: Cam mechanisms rely on wear strips for smooth, low-friction movement.

Wear Plate Materials
